Puppies and Little Boys

Thankful for being able to lay down in the grass with the sun shining down on me... with just enough breeze to feel it brush over me and keep me cool. All this while Alex, 5, is chasing Noah (5 month old Lab) around me and laughing a contagious laugh... you know the kind.

The Gift

Today I was angry.  I went for a walk with my family and some things happened that made me see red-- about five different shades.  I walked down a different path with Noah, who is 4 months old now.  He played in the water for the first time.  Just watching him took away all my anger.  He was jumping up and down in the water and trying to bite the current.  It was his first time to really engage in the water.  And, it made me laugh, made me see the world again through eyes that were calm and loving...because my bbf Noah had enough courage to make me laugh when I was about to cry.  I am so very thankful for him and the gift of loving me no matter how happy, sad, angry etc... the unconditional love of a pet is not describable with words.

Three A.M. Thoughts

Most of you  probably don't know that I have insomnia.  I am up every night from about Three a.m. for a couple hours.   It can be pretty lonely at that time... So, here I am blogging...
So, yesterday was pretty much one of the worst days possible.  My brother decided he wanted to take us to Jones Lake.  If you know me well, you know I have an aversion to steep hills and driving my vehicle on ANY thing that resembles a hill.  So, Jones Lake sounded like one of those parks that one drives to, parks in the parking lot and walks on flat land around a nice paved area....WRONG!  It was 7 kms of straight up hill, dirt road, no slide guard rails...not my idea of fun but I had to face my fear the whole time.  Worst than my phobia, My brother brought is puppy, a year old lab who is scared of driving--we thought he might be cured if he had a chance to hang out with us...but nope, it was pretty much a 70 pound mutt on me like Scooby Doo when he sees a ghost jumps into Shaggy's arms.  And this Scooby decided to lose his lunch not once, but TWICE!   Ugh...

Besides Dogs Barfing, things seem to be getting better on my side of the mountain.  I just got the job of my dreams.  We bought a house by the ocean.  I am working a lot subbing and seem to be successful. I still have moments when I feel very sad about the things that have happened--But, at least things are looking up....I mean, besides the dog barf, of course.
